In New Zealand, IDY has been held since 2017 and in Wanaka since 2020.

It is an opportunity for the community to practice different styles of yoga and learn about the philosophy of yoga, Ayurveda, Chakras, Meditation and more.

The event is created and developed by local yoga teachers Danielle Anson, Emmilee Fendall, Gerry Todd, Jessie Maclaurin and Amy Eacott, along with Soul Yoga event organizer Keity Garcia. IDY Wanaka will also feature Ostamed Master Steven Pagano and Francesco Proverbio of Metamed Wanaka, who will talk about Osteopathy and Yoga.

St John and Cancer Society donation boxes will be available at reception. Although the event is free, the entire team would appreciate it if participants could help any of these organizations.

The full program and registration are available at www.soulyoga.co.nz/idy-2021

With the theme of 2021 “Yoga at Home and Yoga with the Family,” given the current international climate, we have a privilege in Nelson, NZ to be able to meet in person.

On Sunday, June 20, Nelson Yoga teachers collaborate to share a series of classes and mini-workshops throughout the day with the community at large. The sessions are open to everyone and offer a great way to get a taste of what yoga, meditation and breathing practices can offer (see schedule).

There’s even a class for the whole family to join in, really embracing this year’s theme! Attendance at all sessions is free, with a koha for World Visions India Appeal.
